Bio
The Victoria – The Gathering Place, Vintage Rentals, and VicTorial Arches are owned and operated by a mom and daughter team – Angie Cox and Victoria Cox McCoy. Angie was a State Farm agent in Jefferson City, Tennessee for 29 years, retiring in November of 2023 to start a new adventure with her daughter. The Victoria is named after her! Tori also worked at the State Farm Agency for 6 years and another venue to gain experience. We have two adorable pups, Archie & Sofie, who are a big part of our family and occasionally with us at the venue. We are so excited to be starting this next chapter in our lives and looking forward to helping each of you make your dreams a reality.
Vision
To be the premier destination where innovation meets celebration, inspiring unforgettable experiences that redefine hospitality standards and leave a lasting impression on all who enter.
History
The original building was the McCartts Grocery back in the 1950’s. The grocery store remained a staple in the community until around 1973. Around that time the building was sold and reopened as the Rocky Top General Store the community remembers finding all sorts of items from chicken supplies and hardware to furniture. Their greatest memory is the smell of popcorn when they walked through the door! In 2022 the building was sold again and transformed into the destination it is today. The Victoria – The Gathering Place occupies a portion of the building and outdoor space, roughly 6,000+ sq. ft., a magical space where new memories for the community will be created.
Future
We have recently purchased the white building next door that is in desperate need of a renovation. This building is right in front of our back parking lot. In the near future, we will be renovating the building to add a few air BnB’s, office space, a smaller event space, and storage for The Victoria. We will be calling the building The Cottages at The Victoria. Stay tuned for more information!!!
